It’s wedding season

Well wedding season is here again.  This weekend two of my friends are tying the knot in Augusta Georgia.  They are getting married at Enterprise Mill, and I can’t wait for their big day!

So all of the wedding festivities made me think about my wedding last year, and I realized I never put up any pictures.  I did talk a little about the wedding before, but here are some of the pics from the big day.

All photos were taken by the lovely Kelly Cummings of Spindle Photography.

I got my hair done at Radius Salon.  I have always been hesitant to get  my hair done at salons because I’ve had several bad experiences.  I decided to suck it up for my wedding though and attempt to go to a salon.  It was meant to be because my husband went to Syracuse, (therefore a HUGE Syracuse fan)  and wouldn’t you know it, my hair stylist happened to have just moved to Georgia from Syracuse (also a HUGE Syracuse fan).

My shoes were Kate Spade.

My grandfather walked me down the aisle and rode with me in a vintage Rolls Royce to the ceremony.  It was so special to spend my last moments before getting married with my grandfather.

I made all of our wedding programs (with the help of my bridesmaids) on some card stock that a friend of mine gave me.

We rode in a 1947 Rolls Royce that we rented along with a Limo for the bridal party and a bus to shuttle all of the guests from Atlantic Limo.  Guess where Courtney from Atlantic Limo who helped us with our transportation was from….yep, Syracuse.

Following the wedding we waited a few days before going on our honeymoon to St. Lucia.  It was fun because some of Matt’s family was in town for a few days after the wedding and we got to keep the celebration and family time going for a little bit longer.

Our wedding day was an unforgettable, beautiful, amazing day full of love and laughter with family and friends.

Wedding Guest Books

So when I got married last year I wanted to come up with a guest sign in that wasn’t a book that I would never look at again.  So I started looking online, and came up with a few ideas of things I might like.  You can see some of the ideas that I posted on pinterest here.

One idea from Martha Stewart was to have guests sign plates that you could later hang in your home.

I decided to buy some nice plates at Home Goods to have guests sign at the rehearsal dinner.  In the background of this photo you can see how my plates turned out.  I still need to buy some more plates to fill in, but you get the idea.

For the actual wedding I had settled on a wedding poster.  After looking all over the internet for inspiration I asked my MOH Brandy to make the poster for me.  Since my new last name was going to be King I wanted to incorporate a crown into the poster design.

Here is the finished poster hanging in my home.

I’m not sure that this will be it’s permanent spot in the house, but I like it for now. If you’d like to order your own poster from Brandy, you can at her etsy shop.  You can also find a few gems from my days as a model when Brandy &  I were also business partners. Yeah LEGAL business partners, we had to do taxes together and everything, which we found out the hard way was a huge pain. We had a lot of fun though, and we still get together from time to time to make things together.

Also fun while reminiscing about Fabricate’s hey day, check out this post on design sponge back in 2006!  Yeah that’s right, she says to check out our myspace page.

My relatively new camera

This past Christmas I got a brand new camera, a Canon EOS Rebel t3.

It’s a  great camera and I’ve been taking a lot more pictures than normal.  Then one day I decided that my computer was running slow and decided to delete things with abandon off my computer, and then somehow ended up deleting a lot of photos on my computer!  Ooops, so that’s why you should back everything up.

So here are a few of the photos that I managed to not delete.

I will admit most of my pics are of my sweet miniature dachshund Lucy.

I mean she’s pretty adorable right?

This could go on and on, more photos to come!

(hopefully much better ones)
