It’s all Happening
In 2013 I’m trying to achieve some of my goals, (i.e. blog more, get my biz up and running).
“Time to show my lists who’s boss!”
I’ve been following Alex Beadon photography for a while, and today was going back through some of her old blog posts. As I was perusing I found this link to sillygrrl.com. It has a great list of ways to be more productive, motivated and how to work towards achieving your goal. This list can really be applied to any facet of your– life, health, work, etc.
Viva La Mexico!
Last week I went with my husband and 2 of our friends to Mexico for 5 days. We found an online deal (that almost seemed too good to be true) and thought it would be nice to get away from the cold for a bit in January.
So off we went and we had an amazing relaxing time. It rained a little bit off and on one day, but we made the best of it-took a trip to town and spent some time in the hot tub!
It’s nice to wake up each day and head down to the beach/pool though in January. I think I may be hooked on taking Winter Holidays from now on!
What do you have planned for your next holiday?

Happy New Year!
I hope everyone had a happy holiday season! It’s always nice to have time to spend with family and friends. But now it’s back to work. This year I hope to be more productive with my Etsy Shop, which will hopefully in turn allow me to spend more time being creative. So that’s why I’m super excited about my new mug from Kin Ship! I’m ready to start getting some stuff done!

Clam Chowder
One of my favorite things to make when it starts getting cold out is clam chowder. Because it’s delicious and also because it gives me a reason to use my Le Creuset. I found a basic recipe online and then adjusted it a little to have more clams and flavor. It turned out AMAZING! Here’s the recipe below!
Cassi’s Clam Chowder
3 pieces of Bacon diced
4-6.5 oz cans of chopped clams in broth-reserve 8oz of broth and leave remaining broth with clams
1/2 cup water
1 medium onion-diced
8 medium potatoes-diced
1 cup 2% milk
2 Tablespoons flour
2 cups half and half
1 Tablespoon pepper
1 teaspoon salt
First saute bacon until crispy in a large pot. Next remove the bacon and add the onion to the remaining fat, cooking it until tender. Next add diced potatoes, 8oz broth, water, salt and pepper to pot and stir. Let it simmer 15-20 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Whisk flour into milk and add to pot with half and half along with the clams and the remaining broth. Allow flavors to meld for 3-5 minutes, stirring constantly. Add salt and pepper to taste if needed. Serve with warm crusty bread!
Enjoy!
Pumpkin Ale
Wow, it has been awhile since I last blogged. I have been quite busy lately, with working and going out of town several weekends in a row. Ready to get back on track though with a festive Pumpkin themed post. Pumpkin flavors and scents are one of my favorite parts about fall. When you hear the Pumpkin Spice Latte is back at Starbucks you know it’s almost that time of year again!
Last weekend I went to Boston and had Shipyard Pumpkin Ale for the first time. It was delicious! Especially with the cinnamon sugar rim and a splash of vanilla vodka. You can see I was eager to taste the rim before I thought to take the picture!
I’m going to attempt to recreate this with a Pumpkin Ale that I picked up at Trader Joe’s and hopefully it will have the same great fall flavors! Now off to light my pumpkin scented candle and wash my hands with my pumpkin hand wash. Happy Fall!
